Students should develop domain knowledge, creativity, and attitude to set goals and work hard to find a job for themselves, said Dr. Sunil S.R. Gangolli, Vice Principal, Info Institute of Engineering.

Department of Mechanical Engineering of PPG Institute of Technology, recently organized MECHANATOR – 2k15, the National Level Technical Fest.

He spoke on the available opportunities in the industries and how students could work towards improving their employability.

After the inauguration, various technical and non technical events like paper presentation, project demonstration, mech talk, technical quiz, Mr. Mechanic, CADD contest, short films, RC racing and treasure hunt, were held.

Nearly 150 papers were presented and about 25 projects were submitted. Over 500 students participated in these events. Cash prize worth rupees Rs. 50,000 was distributed.

Dr. R. Prakasam, Principal, welcomed the gathering. Shanthi Thangavelu, Correspondent, PPG Group of Institutions, presided over the function.

Prof. D. Rajeswari, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, said that such technical symposia enabled students develop their managerial skills, time management skills, team work and decision making abilities.
