With an aim to spread awareness among local SMEs and sellers on the benefits of selling online, e-commerce giant Amazon rolled out its Amazon Chai Cart in Coimbatore today.

This initiative introduced sellers to specialised seller services that could help them sell and earn more on the Amazon India market place.

Rohit Kulkarni, Senior Manager, New initiatives, Amazon India, said: “Through the Amazon Chai Cart we wish to connect with thousands of sellers to make them aware of enormous e-commerce opportunity. Sellers can seamlessly run their online as well as offline business and expand their reach, not just in India, but also in the U.S. and the U.K. through the recently launched Amazon Global Selling initiative.”

Under this activity, Amazon will deploy a three wheeler mobile cart called ‘Amazon Chai Cart’ to navigate in the city’s business districts and serve tea, cold water and lemon juice to business owners, sellers, retailers and SMEs in that area. Each Amazon Chai Cart will have Amazon trained personnel who will have discussions and conversations with interested sellers on the process of selling online and introduce them to seller-specific services.

Before reaching Coimbatore, The Amazon Chai Cart has visited 18 cities and covered a distance of over 6,000 km across the country in four months. Over 15,600 cups of chai, coffee and nimbu paani, Amazon has connected with thousands of sellers across the country.

Amazon Chai Carts will be stationed in popular markets across Coimbatore. Watch out for them at Cross Cut Road, Gandhipuram (Street No 1 to 11) today and tomorrow (27th and 28th Aug) and in R.S. Puram, D.B. Road and Sai Baba Colony, and on NSR Road this Saturday (29thAug).
