Kochi: Grooming is an art that can do wonders for your personality. A nice hairdo and a sparkling visage can boost your confidence and make you stand out in a crowd. The nuances of grooming are many and right make-up needs a creative mind, believes Bengaluru-based Thousif Sait, who is also make-up man to celebs.
Thousif was recently at one of Kochi’s hottest addresses, Lulu Mall, to share with Kochiites his expertise in hair and make-up. And the makeover session for 50 women, turned out to be an enthralling experience, with Tousif, who works with Sunny Leone, Sushmita Sen and Tisca Chopra, giving pointers for dusky skin tones.
Thousif was initiated into the world of make-up after watching his mother dress up while they lived in Dubai. A two-year course at London School of Make-up, was followed by a short stint as a faculty there. Armed with international exposure, he started off with working with actors like Raveena Tandon, Sushmita and Sunny Leone in with ramp shows for Rohit Bal and photographer Atul Kasbekar. The response to his work was tremendous and he soon switched base to Bangalore.
“The fashion perspective of south Indians has seen a big change in the past decade, and everyone wants to look well-groomed and have makeovers,” says Thousif, who owns a line of hot-selling facial creams, masks and lipsticks.
“I also like to share my expertise in make-up with the underprivileged to empower them,” says Thousif, who travels to the interior villages near Bangalore and tutors people in grooming. Next stop? Andaman and Nicobar Islands in December to get the girls ready for the Navy show.
