Three killed in mishap

Two women and a one-and-a-half-year-old child died and seven others injured when the car in which they were travelling in dashed against a tree near Kurichi here today.

While 65-year-old Muniammal and her grand daughter Tanishka, died on the spot, 60-year old Lakshmi died on way to the hospital, where the injured have been admitted.

According to police, the car driver, Panneer lost control and dashed against the tree and then against wall of a house near Aathupalam, in the early hours. The inmates were returning to Thudiyalur from Pollachi when the accident occurred.
