Three members of a family, including a 4-year old boy, committed suicide by hanging in their house in Tirupur.

Neighbours grew suspicious as the front door was not opened for long in the morning, and the television was on. They informed the police, who rushed to the spot. They broke open the door, only to find the members hanging dead from the ceiling, police said.

Ramesh was running a pawn broker shop on Mangalam Road, and said to be in financial burden, which was the reason for the extreme step, they said.

Police also recovered a suicide note, purportedly written by Ramesh, which stated that he owned Rs.70 lakh to some persons, while Rs.1.5 crore had to be collected from many persons.

He had mentioned the name of persons, who owed him money, police said.Bodies were sent for post mortem to Government Hospital in Tirupur.
