TN politics going through transition: BJP

Covai Post Network

Thanjavur: BJP national general secretary P. Muralidhar Rao today said that politics in Tamil Nadu was going through a transition period and hoped new leaders would emerge.

Talking to reporters here today, the BJP leader said parties such as AIADMK and DMK have ‘misgoverned’ the State. “Cauvery and a clean government will be possible only when the BJP becomes powerful in the State,” he said.

“The Centre’s action against black money has created fear among all family driven political parties. Without it (black money), the stranglehold of families in parties like Congress and DMK will be destroyed.”

He claimed that ordinary people would not lose their money and gold due to demonetisation. “Real internal democracy will come in the political parties if black money is abolished. Demonetisation will help the poor and the honest. In the long run, inflation and price of essentials will come down,” he added.

On the constitution of Cauvery Management Board (CMB), Muralidhar Rao said a solution could be found only after the Supreme Court pronounces its verdict.

Tamilisai Soundarrajan, the State uni president of BJP, was present.
