TNAU holds paperless exam in 42 colleges

Coimbatore : Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) today went digital conducting paperless examination in all the 42 colleges across Tamil Nadu.

The paperless exam system (Digital Exam Pad), the first of its kind innovative, eco-friendly, technological solution was launched during 2014, aiming at eliminating the necessity of paper and reducing the risk involved in the process of conducting examinations.

Each student is provided with a ‘Digital Exam pad’, which needs their biometric authentication.

The student using the stylus provided along with the pad can write digitally on it and can draw pictures, diagrams, charts with colours without typing knowledge.

The student can know about the score for objective type of questions immediately after the exam, while for the descriptive ones, the student can view the answer script upon evaluation.

Answer sheets are stored in the TNAU exam cloud and the examiners can evaluate the descriptive part at their convenience.

TNAU Controller of Examinations Dr K Ilamurugu, said in a statement that the system was eco-friendly.
