Two chain snatch incidents in two days

In a second such incident within two days, two persons on a motorbike allegedly snatched four sovereigns worth gold chain from a 34-year old woman in the wee hours here on Thursday.

According to sources, the victim S. Sasikala, living with her husband Sasikumar in Annamalai road in Saibaba Colony, was working in a private firm near V.G.R Puram.

On Thursday, while she was walking to her office around 3.00 p.m., two unknown culprits on a motorbike waylaid her and the pillion rider snatched her four sovereign gold chain worth Rs. 40,000 and escaped with the booty.

A case has been registered with the Saibaba Colony Police and they have started the investigation.

Despite the city police forming a special team to nab chain snatchers in the city, the second case within two days has created panic among city dwellers.
