This has also improved the commercial activities of the village with more eateries and logistic providers coming to the area.

Tourists visiting from other parts of the country and abroad to Munnar have started coming here.

A panchayat member said that the area is going to be one of the best boating sites as the reservoir would have water during all times at a particular level whereas the level in Kundala and Mattupetty where boating is famous falls during summer.

A trader said that people are visiting in huge numbers as Munnar is getting congested. It is difficult to get accommodation in Munnar during peak season. Moreover, the accommodation at Adimali near the Sengulam dam is cheaper. There are number of lodges available in the area for budget rate.
