The foremost demand of the 16,000-odd residents of Idayarpalayam Ward 6 is a hospital. The next in line is a marriage hall. And, of course, as is the case in many other areas, here too there is a need for better roads.

According to A. Arulselvi, a homemaker, pregnant women had to travel nearly seven km from Kamaraj Nagar to Thaliyur for a hospital requirement.

“We have requested the Councillor and we hope she is able to meet this demand as she has with most of our other demands in the last four years. We have better roads in Kamaraj Nagar and also potable water,” Arulselvi adds.

N.K. Palanisamy, a businessman in PNG Pudur, says that their main need is a road. Poor roads keep away the bus and people have to undergo much inconvenience because of this.

Residents of Idayarpalayam who are enjoying a renovated Anganvadi School and a public kitchen, want a marriage hall as there are many families living in the area who will put it to good use.

According to L. Saraswathy, Councillor of Idayarpalayam Ward 6, she has resolved most of the problems of the Ward with support of Government that had sanctioned Rs. 7 crore in the last four years.

“I have constructed roads, water tanks and public toilets in Adhwa nagar, fitted LED lights on road lamp posts. A park has come up in Vidhya Colony. I have also disbursed Government aid. The Government has now sanctioned Rs.2 crore for constructing roads at PNG Pudur. I hope to meet their demands”.
