Woman undergoes abortion ; commits suicide

After undergoing an abortion procedure ten days ago, a 23-year-old woman from P.N. Palayam committed suicide on Friday.
According to sources, the deceased T. Usha was married to Thiyagarajan about a year ago and was pregnant with a child. However, she underwent an abortion about ten days ago and was deeply depressed over it. Unable to bear her grief, Usha allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison and died at her residence in Bharathy Nagar in P.N. Palayam.
The Race Course police who arrived at the scene have registered a case and have started the investigations.
