Women continue to outnumber men voters in the district

Women voters continue to outnumber men in all the 10 constituencies in Coimbatore district, which has 28,61,536 voters as per the draft electoral roll released on Tuesday.

Of the total voters, female voters were 14,40,485 as against 14,20,408 male voters, with 283 transgenders, District Collector T.N. Hariharan said while releasing the draft.

Of the 2,78,661 voters, Mettupalayam constituency has 1,34,992 male voters, 1,40,641 female voters and 28 others, while Sulur 1,42,946 male voters, 1,46,304 female and 11 others.

The largest constituency Koundampalayam has 2,09,659 male voters, 2,09,038 female voters and 68 transgenders, Coimbatore North has 1,56,461 male voters and 1,53,767 females voters, with 27 others, while Thondamuthur has 1,52,808 male and 1,53,342 female and 54 transgenders.

Coimbatore South has 1,22,094 male, 1,21,983 male and 12 others, Singanallur 153,637 male and 1,53,819 female with 28 others.

Kinathukadavu has 1,46,553 men, 1,49,278 women and 28 transgenders, Pollachi 1,04,692 men, 1,10,964 female and 14 others, while Valparai has 96,566 men, 1,01,709 female and 13 transgenders, the release said.
