Two city-based entrepreneurs Bharati and Naresh Vadivel firmly believe that a lot can happen over a cup of tea. While enjoying their cups of bubble tea in Chennai, both of them struck upon the idea of making this special and delicious beverage available to folks in Coimbatore. Thus was born the idea of opening a franchise store of Cha Republic in Coimbatore. After a good six months of research and preparing, Cha Republic, the Malaysian-style Bubble tea store, opened its doors in Coimbatore.
Cha Food and Beverages Private Limited, is promoted by Malaysian entrepreneurs Vanitha Ramasamy and Kavitha Devaraju. It came to Chennai in 2012. Cha takes the credit of introducing bubble tea in Chennai under the brand name Cha Republic. Currently the brand has six stores (including five franchises) in Chennai. The brand is known for its world-famous Taiwanese bubble tea which comes with a twist of Malaysian flavour.
“Our beverages have received positive reviews. People are ready to try out our flavours. Cha already has created a strong fan following in the city,” says Vanitha Ramasamy. Some of their signature drinks are Hong Kong Pearl Milk tea, Honey dew Milk tea, and Passion fruit milk tea. Besides being the thirst quenchers that the drinks are supposed to be, these exotic beverages also offer some very engaging textures.
At the Coimbatore store located in Brookfields, Cha Republic offers its bubble tea in six varieties and 120 flavours! The Coimbatore store was inaugurated by nephrologist Dr. K.S. Ramalingam of Coimbatore Kidney Center. His daughter is a huge fan of bubble tea. “I’m based out of New York and I love bubble tea. The bubble tea from Cha Republic tastes exotic,” she says.
Cha Republic intends to set up more stores in Coimbatore and they are open to franchisee enquiries.
