The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the official notification for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 for undergraduate (UG) courses today, February 8.

Once the same will be released, all the candidates can check the same at cbseneet.nic.in

“Some of the unverified reports suggested that the NEET UG 2018 online application forms will be available from February 8, 2018. A detailed notification regarding the NEET (UG) 2018 Examination is expected to be released today evening, “as reported by TOI.

Further, the CBSE is likely to conduct NEET on May 10, 2018. However, an official update from the board is awaited in this regard.

NO CHANGE IN CBSE NEET 2018 SYLLABUS:

“The syllabus of NEET (UG) 2018 will be exactly same as it was for NEET (UG) 2017. There is no change in the syllabus of NEET (UG) 2018”.

AGE LIMIT:

Moreover, the Supreme Court has allowed candidates above 25 years to appear for NEET examination.

NEET MIGHT BE MANDATORY FOR EVEN THOSE WHO WANT TO STUDY MEDICINE ABROAD:

Moreover, the government is set to make NEET mandatory for even those students who wish to pursue medicine outside India from this year.

At present, medical graduates who get their degrees from institutes abroad have to take the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination conducted by the Medical Council of India before they are registered to practice as doctors in the country, as reported by New Indian Express.

Education qualification:

The minimum qualification should be 12th (Senior Secondary) pass from the state board or from the recognized University. The subject in Class 12 must be Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology or any other elective subject with English.

Students must have secured minimum 50 per cent marks in PCB group for general candidates and 45 per cent (for general PH) and 40 per cent (for SC/ST/OBC categories).

Last year, the CBSE NEET 2017 was held on May 7 in 10 different languages, compared to eight last year. Students attempted the test in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Oriya and Kannada.

As reported, a total of 11, 38,890 students appeared for NEET 2017 exam including 1,522 NRIs and 613 foreigners.

About CBSE NEET:

CBSE conducts the test as per the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 (amended in 2016) and the Dentists Act 1948 (also amended in 2016).

The CBSE NEET is held for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in India in medical/dental colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the ministry of health and family welfare, except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament ie AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.
