On the occasion of Teacher’s Day which is celebrated on September 5 every year, the birthday of India’s second president Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, SEMrush – a trend data provider proves via recent study that India remains the education capital for local people.
INDIAN STUDENTS NOT WILLING TO LEAVE MOTHERLAND
An Education Research has found that Indian students are not eager to leave the motherland to go to college. Google search volumes show how much more interest there is in attending colleges in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Kerala.
INDIA REMAINS THE MOST SEARCHED FOR COUNTRY: THE STATISTICS
The SEMrush study found that there are about 22,200 Indian Google searches per month related to colleges in India. This is followed by a much smaller number of searches for colleges in Canada (8,100), Australia (1,900), Germany (1,300), the USA (1,300) and New Zealand (1,000).

COLLEGES POPULAR IN TERMS OF GOOGLE SEARCHES THAN UNIVERSITIES
The study also discovered that colleges are much more popular in terms of Google searches than universities. But when it comes to the last ones, India takes only the 4th place in ranking, following Germany, Singapore and Canada. And these choices are pretty understandable and coincide with the overall world state of education.
According to the German Academic Exchange Service, there are about 13% of international students in Germany. As for 2016-2017 data, the number of Indian students exceeded 15,000. They prefer engineering sciences, mathematics and natural sciences, law, economics and social sciences.
At the same time the National University of Singapore, the oldest and the largest university in the country, ranks in the top 30 globally. It’s famous for its entrepreneurial opportunities, research and international outlook and is renowned for its outstanding achievements in engineering and technology. Finally, in 2018, Canada is considered to be a home to nearly half a million international students.
