Graduate Management Admission Council also known as GMAC would be conducting the NMAT exam which will be held in a 75 days testing window from October 4 to December 17. The online registration for NMAT 2018 has already opened from July 03 and shall close on October 3.

Vikram Shah who is the Product Management Director of GMAC commented on the exam and said, “We are extremely happy to announce that NMAT by GMAC goes international this year. Starting this year candidates can select schools from India, South Africa and Philippines that accept NMAT by GMAC scores. The acceptance of the exam in these emerging markets shows that the exam is widely recognized by schools globally. We are confident that with the unique features like multiple login methods, increased access along with NMAT by GMAC Official Prep, we would be able to connect talent with the right opportunity. To help ease the candidate anxiety and build their confidence we are introducing an All India FREE Mock exam for candidates sometime in Sep 2018.”

This specific exam just like other popular management entrance exams is a computer-based exam and mainly comprises three sections – Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning. For providing flexibility to students the GMAC gives the students a choice of selecting the order/sequence of the test sections however, the number of questions, level of difficulty , and the time frame for each sections is already predetermined.

GMAC’s Regional Director of South Asia, Mr. Gaurav Srivastava while talking to reporters said, “We are proud to complete three years with significant growth in the test registrations. The surge in registration numbers Y-O-Y is a testament that the NMAT by GMAC exam has been a symbol of quality – enabling test takers to access graduate management education and build a career of choice, while providing schools access to top quality talent. This year is a special one as the NMAT by GMAC exam goes international. Schools in some these emerging markets will now have access to one of the most diverse test taking pool with a high proportion of women and non-engineers taking the exam.”

This year the GMAC has brought about a few modifications for the NMAT exam and has increased the option of registration process thereby giving a big relief to the prospective test takers. It has come up with more online registration login methods which would surely facilitate the registration process without having to remember a new password when they login. Since the past three years the board has followed the same structure of opening and closing of the registration window opening from July 3 to October 3. MBA aspirants who wish to appear for this exam have the option to choose from 44 test centers spread all across India and also opt for 4 international locations. For full registration details candidates can visit nmat.org.in and can register there for the exam.

GMAT has also opened up more ways to pay the registration fees making it more convenient for the students. The exam pattern on the other hand remains unchanged as it will still be a computer based objective type multiple choice test and there would be no descriptive questions asked.

Those who seek admission from the academic year 2019-2021 in leading graduate business schools such as, 2-year full time MBA, MBA-HR and MBA Pharmaceutical Management at Mumbai Campus, PGDM in Bengaluru Campus, and PGDM at Hyderabad Campus would need to clear and get good score in NMAT exam. The score obtained by students would also be accepted for admission to MBA programs to more than 20 MBA colleges and universities which includes the likes of VIT Vellore and XIM Bhubaneshwar. From this year onwards, students who get through the NMAT test would be able to select and send scores to business schools in the Philippines and South Africa as well.
