Amala Akkineni in actor Krishna’s High Priestess

Amala Akkineni has been roped in to star in a web series titled High Priestess. The first look poster of this was unveiled recently and the actor looks gorgeous as usual. The series is directed by Pushpa and bankrolled by actor Krishna under his banner Tribal Horse Entertainments. It will premiere on April 25th on Zee 5.

Releasing the first look, the production house had tweeted: “The Woman of substance makes her comeback in #ZEE5TeluguOriginal #HighPriestess @ZEE5Telugu Premieres April 25th, Wait for the Teaser! And she enters the twitter world with the first look @amalaakkineni1.@iamnagarjuna @ZEE5Telugu @AkhilAkkineni8 @pushpaignatius @TribalHorseOffl”

On High Priestess, Krishna told in an interview to the indianexpress.com, “It was a pleasure knowing Amala ma’am, and this role will unearth the never-seen-before side of hers. The digital platform is the future, as it gives us an opportunity to support creative content with no compromise in quality. Collaborating with an artiste of her calibre is a blessing. She is extremely grounded, punctual, systematic, friendly and above all, a no-nonsense actor.” On producing the we series, Krishna said that his production house would make only web series as of now and added that High Priestess will be in Telugu. The producer also intends to make a web series in Tamil as well.

The web series, besides Amala, has Kishore, Sunainaa, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Vijayalakshmi and Aadhav Kannadasan in important roles.

Amala Akkineni is one of the versatile actors around. She was last seen in the Tamil film Karpura Mullai way back in 1991 and then staged a comeback in 2012 with Life is Beautiful. She was then seen in the television series Uyirmai in 2014 – 15.

On the other hand Krishna currently has three Tamil films lined up for release this year. He is busy with Kazhugu 2 and also has Thiru Kural and Graghanam.The actor is now all set to make his debut in Malayalam with the film Picasso. The movie will be directed by Sunil Kariattukara of Pakida fame and Sheikh Afzal will be bankrolling it under his banner.
