Mahesh Babu heaps praise on Mani Ratnam film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam


Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, which released on September 27, has been appreciated as one of the best films of 2018.

The gangster-drama has Arvind Swami, Simbu, Vijay Sethupathi, Arun Vijay, Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Dayana Erappa in significant roles.

Chekka Chivantha Vaanam was also released in Telugu as Nawab. The film has got an admirer in Tollywood and it is none other than Mahesh Babu. The actor watched the film in his house and enjoyed it much.

Impressed by the film, Mahesh Babu called it ‘the movie of the decade’. He wrote, “#ChekkaChivanthaVaanam… stellar performances .. @arrahman…matchless @santoshsivan…pure class. As a #ManiRatnam fan, used to clap watching his films in the theatres of Chennai, did the same… watching it in my home theatre with my collar up. Mahesh Babu’s words of appreciation might be of help to boost the film’s collection in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The film which was jointly produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions earned over Rs 30 crore in Tamil Nadu within the first four days of its release.

Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is tipped to be Mani Ratnam’s biggest ever hit in his career.
