A wedding is a happening and exciting time for everyone. Not just the people who are getting married (who by the way are probably THE most stressed people at that time), but friends and family also have a gala time celebrating the coming together of two people who they love. Weddings are also an expensive affair, especially going by the times we live in. And even though a wedding in question might be a simple affair, as a friend or a relative, certain expenses can just not be escaped. There are a few things that have to be catered to as an attending guest, and in order to not make those things an expensive affair, here’s what you can do.

The clothes

One of the best things about India is that you can find a lot of fabric markets and a lot of tailors who are willing to stitch beautiful clothes up for you. And guess what? That saves a lot of money. Wedding clothes are generally expensive but play a little smart and you will end up saving loads. Besides, who says you have to dress up like a tableau? Minimalism is in, less is more. So be creative with your clothes. Another thing you can do is mix and match something new with something old; recycling is in too.

The wedding present

If you are a young working professional in your twenties, chances are pretty solid that no one expects you to give a grand gift anyway. Be creative, be personal, and be smart – there are classy gifts that can be gifted without burning a hole in your anyway small pocket. But make sure it is something that is of relevance and use to the newlywed or something they will cherish.

The travel

If it is a destination wedding that has been planned, make sure you book your tickets way in advance. What’s more? See if you can make a vacation out of it by adding a few days to the wedding plan and travelling around. As for transportation, ride with a friend or some relative. Always a good idea.
