The mango season is upon us and we are reveling in the juicy, delicious edible gold. Halfway through the summer, we can’t get enough of the fruit that is has the epithet “king of fruits”. And for good measure – there are so many varieties to try out, and an unquenchable desire for the fruit. But guess what? Mango isn’t just good for dessert and satiating our sweet tooth. Mangoes have a lot of other benefits – they can be used to beautify your skin too. Little known fact, that.

Here are some ways you can put those little suns to use.

For youthful, better skin

You can remove fine lines and wrinkles by mixing mango pulp with some egg white, making a paste and then leaving it on your face for 30 minutes. The antioxidants and collagen make your skin firm. Once a week, and hello beautiful skin.

For face cleansing

Dried mango peel powder, mixed with wheat flour and some water acts as a great cleanser for your skin leaving the skin radiant. You can also go for a mix of mango pulp, almond powder and some milk to make a paste and use it to clean your skin.

Mango hair conditioner

Some mango pulp, some yoghurt, and 2 egg yolks and we are in business. This mask applied to your hair for 30 minutes makes it shiny, smooth and manageable. You can also use mango seed oil made at home to strengthen and blacken your hair.

See? And you thought mango was just for eating.
