4 Face Masks For Dry, Dehydrated Skin



Summer can be tough on one’s skin, even more so if it’s of a dry type. High temperatures can sap it of moisture while overexposure to the sun can cause tanning and damage. The resultant troubled and dry skin can be distressing but not when you have natural remedies by your side. If you’re in the same boat, these four face packs can repair damage and nourish the skin greatly.

1. Papaya Pack

Slice a papaya in half and remove the seeds and stringy portion from one side. Then remove the pulp from the skin and mash it into a thick paste. In a bowl, mix this paste with two tablespoons of honey until combined. Apply over the face and neck, leave it for 30 minutes and wash off with warm water. Honey, a humectant combined with papaya’s enzymes is ideal for moisturation.

2. Banana Pack

Separate the white from the yolk of one egg and keep the yolk aside. In a bowl, mash one slightly overripe banana with the egg white and add three tablespoons of yoghurt to it. Apply the mixture over the face and neck, then allow it to dry for 40 minutes. Wash with cleanser and cold water. The minerals present in these ingredients will nourish dry skin efficiently.

3. Saffron Pack

Even with just two ingredients, this face pack is full of goodness to repair skin and leave it glowing. To make it, mix three tablespoon of fresh milk cream with two or three strands of saffron. Blend well and apply to the face and neck. Let it sit for an hour and then wash off with warm water.

4. Avocado Pack

This one’s a power-packed combination for even the driest, parched skin. That’s what happens when nourishing avocado, yoghurt’s lactic acid and healing honey come together. Make this mask by mixing the mashed pulp of half a ripe avocado with one teaspoon of honey and two tablespoons of yoghurt. Apply over the face and neck, leave it for 45 minutes and wash off thoroughly with warm water.
