Not been drinking enough water? We get you. While staying hydrated is a must during summers, not all of us remember to keep sipping water throughout the day. It’s almost like a chore we keep reminding ourselves to do whenever the thought strikes our mind. If plain ole water is not fun enough for you, there are many delicious ways you can give it a flavour boost and make it your favourite drink this summer. Wondering how? All you need to do is make use of ice cubes.

Flavoured water is a great way to stay hydrated during summers. But if you really do not have the time to keep filling up bottle after bottle using seasonal fruits and herbs, then do it once and for all by making ice cubes. Here’s how:

1. Mint and other herbs

Need an instant refreshment? Mint has incredible cooling properties and just a few sprigs of the herb can work wonders to beat the heat. Pluck a few leaves and wash them thoroughly to remove dirt. Fill an ice cube tray with water and in each cube, place one or two leaves and let it freeze. Whenever you are at home and want to drink a glass of water, just add a few cubes and feel instantly refreshed. You can also use other herbs like coriander, dill, rosemary, etc.

2. Rose water

Did you know that rose is a great mood enhancer? Use rose water or gulab jal to add to your ice cubes and flavour regular water. You will be pleasantly surprised to learn how effortlessly it can make you feel recharged.

3. Lemon slices

Summer is never complete without citrus fruits to add some zing. If you love the lemony flavour, use thin slices of lemon in your ice cubes. You can also combine it with refreshing herbs like mint and enjoy water like never before!

4. Melons and berries

Not only do these ice cubes look pretty, melons and berries can give you your much needed dose of antioxidants everytime you sip water. You can also use them in sangrias and make sundowners more flavour packed. Pick watermelon, muskmelon, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and more. Blend them or use as whole.

5. Flower cubes

Enjoy refreshing floral notes in your glass of water by adding flower ice cubes. There are various kinds of edible flowers – hibiscus, pansy, roses – and you can use them to feel refreshed.

So beat the heat in a delicious way by making the most of flavoured ice cubes and giving regular water a fun makeover.
