“All the accused named in the FIR are being questioned at the CBI’s headquarters. After questioning, we will decide further course of action,” said an officer of CBI.

According to sources, Lalit Jain, Sanjeev Raj and Varun Chaudhary are being interrogated by agency since Wednesday morning. The questioning was still on, while this article was published.

The prime investigative agency, based on Interpol inputs and complaints, had registered a case of human trafficking against three persons after 23 students, who were taken to Paris to participate in a rugby training camp, went missing in the French capital.

Now, it is being suspected that these missing students have been sold in the international market.

The CBI registered a case against these three accused on the charges of criminal conspiracy, human trafficking, cheating, forgery and using forged documents to commit crime.

The CBI also conducted raids at four places in Delhi and seized incriminating documents and other articles from the premises of accused persons.

THE HUMAN TRAFFICKING MYSTERY

On February 1, 2016, a group of 25 teenagers, shown as students of two Kapurthala-based schools in Punjab had gone to Paris.

The families of the students were told that the camp in Paris was orgainsed on the basis of invitation received from French Federation.

All 25 students attended the rugby training camp in Paris for about a week.

But soon, all the 25 children were left in Paris and their return tickets were cancelled by the people who took them to Paris.

However, one brave student smelled something wrong and approached the French Police and narrated the entire story.

The French Police informed the Interpol, which established contact with CBI, and two out of 25 students were sent to Delhi by the authorities. The other 23 are still missing and untraceable in Paris.

According to the complain, visa for these students for Paris were obtained from French Embassy in Delhi on the basis of forged and fabricated documents.

The accused had even charged Rs 13 lacs to Rs 25 lacs from parents of each students.
