Guruvayur: In a jolt to the CPM, its major ally CPI has ruled out any ties with the Kerala Congress (M) as it was a “corrupt party headed by a corrupt leader K M Mani”.
CPI general secretary Sudhakar Reddy told a local channel at Malappuram that former Finance Minister Mani was corrupt and it was not possible to work with him. “Corruption cannot be gauged by size of amount swindled by those involved in it,” he said. It was in
response to CPM’s remarks that Mani’s party was less corrupt compared to Congress,
Reddy said he was in favour of a tieup regionally. He suggested inclusion of JDU in the LDF to strengthen the front.
