KOTTAYAM: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is in the second place in the number of criminal cases registered against him. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis tops the list, according to a report published by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW).
While Fadnavis has 22 cases against him, Pinarayi has 11 followed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal (10).
The report was published after scrutinising the self sworn affidavits of the leaders. As per the report, 35 per cent of Chief Ministers in the nation has criminal cases against them.
“The Kerala Chief Minister has the second highest number of criminal cases registered against his name, with serious charges such as ‘cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property’, rioting and criminal conspiracy,” the report said.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is the richest Chief Minister with properties worth Rs 177 crore, while his Tripura counterpart Manik Sarkar has assets worth Rs.27 lakh, the lowest among the Chief Ministers.
