Kochi: A petition has been filed seeking removal of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan from his post on grounds that the government had lost credibility.
The petition was filed by former syndicate member of Kerala University Shashikumar in the wake of Kerala High Court saying the government had lost collective responsibility after Thomas Chandy when he was the Transport Minister had filed a case against a District Collector’s report.
The boycott of the Cabinet meeting by four ministers later and a minister challenging the collector’s report showed the chinks in the government.
The court’s remarks against the government makes removal of the Chief Minister imminent, the petition said.
Thomas Chandy had challenged the Alappuzha District Collector’s report indicting him for encroaching Punnamada lake for the benefit of his resort.
