Police jeep thief nabbed after 26 years from Kannur

Kottayam: Twenty six years after a police jeep went missing here, one of the four thieves was held in Kannur in North Kerala.

Shyju, 52, was arrested by an anti-goonda squad led by DySP Scaria Mathew.

The jeep was stolen in 1992 from Kanjikuzhy in Kottayam. Three of his accomplices were held and convicted, police said.

He was proclaimed a wanted then. Shyju had been hiding in different places under different identities.
