Activists have urged the district administration and Horticulture Department to initiate steps to repair the glass house at the Botanical Gardens here before the beginning of summer.
In an appeal to the authorities, they said the glass house in the garden has not been maintained properly as a result of which it remains closed. “Thousands of saplings have been planted for the first season. The glass house should be opened before tourists start coming. Otherwise the beauty of the gardens will be lost. Also, the separate toilets constructed for women and children are not being maintained properly. The authorities have closed the toilets. And the drinking water connections and taps have broken,” they said and urged the authorities to repair the glass house, toilets and water connections before the tourist season begins.
