Today, Project Management Institute (PMI) announced the finalists for the 2019 PMI Project of the Year Award. The winner will be announced on Saturday, October 5 during the awards gala at the PMI Global Conference 2019 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The PMI Awards Gala is an annual celebration of project, program, and portfolio management – and the industry stars who are not only advancing the profession and their organizations, but enabling the evolution of their communities and the business landscape. Based on nominations from our global membership, PMI and the PMI Educational Foundation will honor those who represent the best of the best from across the world of project management.
Since 1974, the prestigious PMI Professional Awards have honored organizations and individuals whose passion, talent, and expertise have made the greatest contributions to the project management profession or to PMI.
The PMI Project of the Year Award recognizes large and complex projects that best deliver superior performance of project management practices, superior organizational results, and positive impacts on society.
“We believe that our project is a finalist for the Project of the Year Award because of the impressive results that we achieved and STM's strategy based on using best project management practices for the PMBOK. Being a finalist for this award is a great honor for STM. It will allow us to share our experiences with our peers and showcase our results on an international level.”
“The Bassein Development Project was a prized project for L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE) and a matter of pride and testimony to LTHE’s prowess in the execution of large, complex projects ahead of schedule — setting benchmarks in keeping with its stated mission of ‘Execution par Excellence.’”
“Embraer built a heritage out of challenging the impossible, starting with the dream of producing airplanes in a country that did not even manufacture bicycles. This passion was passed from generation to generation and 50 years later, The E2 team has proven that it is possible to dream big and develop a new and high-tech commercial jet, outperforming even with a short schedule, a tight budget and a benchmark spec.”
