Bhuvanesh, a 30-year-old cab driver, was charred to death in the early hours of Friday. According to the police, he was returning from Kumbakonam to Chennai when he had parked the vehicle on the roadside to take a nap.

They suspect the car caught fire because of the short circuit in the car’s air conditioning unit. The body was retrieved and sent for post mortem. A case has been registered and investigations are on.
