Hyderabad youth complain religious sentiments hurt by Malayalam actress Priya Prakash Varrier song that has gone viral

A muslim group has lodged a complaint with Hyderabad police against Malayalam actress Priya Prakash Varrier whose 30 second clip her wink and mischievous smile  in a film song has gone viral and get her superstardom and she became the most searched after celebrity on google, ahead of established stars like Sunny Leone.

Even as she was coping with how to handle the instant fame and adulation came a shocker  to her  and her first brush with the price celebrities have to pay  a complaint against her from people claiming to have been hurt by her gestures.

A group of muslim youth from Hyderabad on Wednesday filed a complaint with Falakuma police station against Priya Prakash Varrier and the producer of her debut film Oro Adaar Love which features the song ‘Manikya Malaraya Poovi’ that contains the gestures and the song that the mulsim group finds objectionable.

The group claimed that the lyrics were linked to the Prophet’s life. A police official confirmed that they had indeed received a complaint from few young men that a song that had gone viral on social media had hurt the sentiments of the muslims.

Priya’s debut film, releasing next month, is written and directed by Omar Lulu, and produced by Ousepachan Vaalakuzhy under the banner of Ousepachan Movie House.

Her debut film song was released on February 9 and within no time, it notched up a whopping ten lakh views by Tuesday. She has 60,000 followers on twitter and has 2.5 million followers on Instagram.
