Chennai : The two superstars continued to act out in real life promising a political thriller in the hope that it will be a superhit among the voters of the state who have so far preferred either of the two Dravidian parties.

As part of this overall script, superstar Kamal Haasan called on the other superstar and his friend of 40 years Rajinikanth, fuelling speculation of their coming together to join forces against the Dravidian parties at the hustings.

But after the 10-minute meeting, the duo took pains to quell speculations and declared that it was just a courtesy meeting.

Rajinikanth said his friend of 40 years had come to seek his good wishes before he commenced on his political journey from Ramanathapuram on February 21. He also requested Rajinikanth to participate in his first political rally at Madurai where he is expected to reveal the name of his party as also unfurl his party flag.

Kamal Haasan said that Rajinikanth had wished him well. It is only a courtesy call and when asked if the duo could come together, said “only time will tell that.”

The two heroes cannot come together and anyway after the polls, both will be zeros said a political analyst speaking on condition of anonymity.

One cannot just paratroop into politics from outside and edge out established political parties without a clear cut policy, programme and commitment. Firstly they have to work hard in the field, like say a Vijayakanth did for several years before he could notch up per cent vote share.

And see he is nowhere now, the analyst pointed out and feared the same fate could befall on the two superstars as well. Anyone who associates with the BJP could find the going tough in Tamil Nadu.

Rajinikanth has also not seen as someone who takes a strong political stand on issues of tamil Nadu people and it remains to be seen as to people bless him as a politician.
