Rs 27,500 fine in Tiruchi for not destroying mosquito breeding sources

A few households and apartments were fined Rs 27,500 by the Tiruchi Corporation officials for failing to destroy mosquito breeding sources.

Corporation Commissioner N Ravichandran, who supervised preventive measures against dengue, found larvae in the water tanks of a few households, flats and construction sites at Burma Colony, Mela Vibuthi Street and Srinagar in Thiruvanaikoil.

Water connection to five houses on VOC Road was also disconnected and fine of Rs 20,000 was imposed on commercial complexes at Cantonment for failing to segregate degradable and bio-degradable waste at source
