TN’s first hand transplant successful

The first person in Tamil Nadu to have a bilateral hand transplant surgery seven months ago, can now use a mobile phone, hold a glass and tap a ball.

Narayanasamy, a mason from Dindigul, was electrocuted and lost mobility of both of his hands in August 2015. In a surgery which lasted 13 hours, doctors transplanted two hands from a brain-dead donor in February this year.
