OnePlus will launch its next flagship phone OnePlus 6 tonight. This is the global launch of the phone in London, while the India launch along with the special Avengers edition is scheduled for May 17 in Mumbai. The OnePlus 6 is going to be a high-end phone, and will sport premium looks with its body made of metal and glass. The phone is likely to be priced around Rs 35,000, which will be slightly more expensive — by around Rs 3000 — compared to introductory price of the OnePlus 5T. You can watch the livestream on OnePlus’ YouTube account.

Ahead of the launch, OnePlus has shared many details about the phone including launch offers, which includes Rs 2,000 discount on purchase through SBI Credit and Debit card. Customers will also be eligible for No Cost EMI for up to 3 months. Additionally, all OnePlus 6 owners will be eligible for a 12-month Accidental Damage Insurance by Servify, Rs 2,000 cash back and insurance from Idea, and benefits of up to Rs 25,000 on flight and hotel booking on ClearTrip.

Also details and images of the device have been leaked, with the most notable leak of the phone’s full images happening on May 14 when Amazon in Germany leaked the device on its website. From the leaks it is clear that the OnePlus 6 is going to look very different from the OnePlus 5T. While the 5T uses an aluminium body, the OnePlus 6 will come with a design that will see the phone sporting a metal frame sandwiched between glass.

OnePlus had earlier revealed that its engineers settled on the right kind of glass after going through 40 iterations. It is also expected that the OnePlus 6 will feature water-resistant design, come with headphone 3.5mm jack and support features like face unlock and dash charging.

The OnePlus 6 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, the same chip that is also inside other high-end phones this year like the Galaxy S9. It will come with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. While the price of the phone is expected to start around Rs 35,000, the variant with the 256GB may end up coming with a price tag that is close to Rs 45,000.

At the company’s event in London, the keynote is likely to be opened by the OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei. The global launch event will be followed by launch events in India, which is the company’s biggest market, and China on May 17. In India, apart from launching the OnePlus 6, the company will also launch the OnePlus 6: Avengers Infinity War Edition that is expected to come with a different finish compared to what users will get on the regular OnePlus 6.

The OnePlus 6 is expected to come with improved rear cameras, and possibly a better front camera. The phone has a screen that sports a notch ala the iPhone X, and it has been hinted by OnePlus that its latest flagship phone will come with support for some gestures that will be modelled after what Google is putting in the Android P or what Apple introduced in the iPhone X.

The OnePlus 6 will be available for purchase in India on May 21 and May 22 in limited sale. The full sale is likely to open in the last week of May.
