Although there is no specific launch date of the OnePlus 6 so far, all indications are that the next “flagship killer” will launch in May in India. The launch date and the price of the OnePlus 6 is still secret, but many more details have come out, some from unofficial sources and some from official channels. The OnePlus 6 is shaping up to be quite a nice phone, and quite a bit different from the OnePlus 5T. It is supposed to come with better and improved hardware. But more significantly, it is going to come with several exciting new features.

In the last few weeks, there has been a lot of news about the OnePlus 6. OnePlus’ core fans have been diligently following the news on the upcoming smartphone. But in case you aren’t – or in case you blinked and missed — here are the details of everything that is known about the OnePlus 6 so far.

1- OnePlus has promised that this will be the fastest phone the company has made so far. That sounds quite awesome because the last four phones from OnePlus — OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 5, OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 — were not slow in any measurable way. The company CEO Pete Lou says that the OnePlus 6 is so fast because of the good hardware in phone as well as the optimisation the company is doing for software-hardware interaction. The OnePlus 6 will come with the Snapdragon 845 processor, up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. As far as optimisation is concerned, OnePlus has created a team of engineers that it calls The FSE (Fast, Stable, Efficient) Team and that team’s role is to “ensure that OnePlus devices offer the fastest, and smoothest user experience available.”

2- The OnePlus 6 is going to come with the largest screen ever put in a smartphone. This is something that OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei revealed earlier. It will also have a notch because why not; although the people who don’t prefer the notch will be able to hide it by changing the settings. Also, Pei said that unlike the notch in other smartphones, the one in OnePlus 6 will offer seamless experience with popular apps because the company is testing thousands of these apps with its next phone to ensure that there are no rough edges.

3- In the same conversation where Pei talked about the notch, he also revealed that the OnePlus 6 will come with a 3.5m jack because apparently that is still important for consumers.

4- OnePlus has hinted that the Oxygen OS, which is going to be based on the latest Android Oreo, in the OnePlus 6 will come with support for several unique screen gestures, similar to the gestures in the iPhone X. This may make using the phone more convenient.

5- Although, for now, specific details of the OnePlus 6 screen are not available, chances are that it will measure 6.28 inches and will come with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.

6- In a teaser released on social media, OnePlus has hinted that the OnePlus 6 will come with water-resistant and dust-proof design and body. This is one area where most of the expensive flagship phones are ahead of OnePlus, despite it being the top selling premium smartphone. This is something that will change with the OnePlus 6.

7- The OnePlus 6 will definitely be launched in a special OnePlus 6 Avengers: Infinity War edition. OnePlus also hinted that the OnePlus 6 might come with a feature that will allow you to use alert slider button to focus when you are clicking a photo.

8- While the information mentioned above comes from official OnePlus sources, many details have also been leaked through the images of the purported OnePlus 6. These images show that the OnePlus 6 will have a dual-camera system. It will also come with a fingerprint sensor embedded beneath the rear camera. Then, there are the leaked details hinting that the OnePlus 6 may be accompanied by special cases that have a wood-grain finish. The leaked images of the OnePlus 6 hint that the phone may come with the alert slider in red and that its power button may be moved to the right edge.

9- Another leaked image showed that the OnePlus 6 will come with improved Dash charging — isn’t it the coolest feature of a OnePlus phone — that will charge the phone at an even faster pace.

Although this is lot of information that has been revealed about the OnePlus 6, there is also much that we don’t know right now. But, given that the launch is just weeks away, it is possible that we will hear more — from official sources as well as unofficial — in the coming days.
