OnePlus is gearing up to launch the OnePlus 6 and has been teasing the phone quite a lot in recent weeks. The company wants to keep the hype alive and what better way to do that than partner with Marvel Studios to celebrate its 10th anniversary with the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War that is set to release worldwide on April 27. While the company has been a little coy about what the team-up entails, it is largely expected that we could see a special OnePlus 6 Avengers: Infinity War edition being announced for India soon.

There is an incredible amount of hype with the upcoming Avengers movie as it culminates 10 years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing together all the superheroes that we have seen on the big screen together to take on the mad titan Thanos. OnePlus is furthering its partnership with Disney India after launching the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition in the country back in December 2017, coinciding with the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. OnePlus says that the phone was “well received by fans across both communities.”

With the upcoming OnePlus 6 Avengers: Infinity War edition, the company is targeting perhaps an even bigger fanbase, but we’ll leave that debate for a later date. What is still unclear at the moment is whether the special edition OnePlus 6 will be exclusive to the Indian market like the OnePlus 5T Star Wars edition was or whether the company plans to make it available in more markets this time around. A recent report suggests that the Infinity War-branded OnePlus 6 will be launched in the UK as well. With just a week away from the release of the movie, we still don’t have a confirmed launch date of the OnePlus 6 so it’s hard to assume that the OnePlus 6 Avengers: Infinity War edition will be announced before the main device.

What we do know based on recent reports is that Infinity War edition will come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 6 is expected to be announced some time in May. Before that, the company will be taking part in the marketing campaigns for Avengers: Infinity War.

The OnePlus 6 will come with a new design language for the company as it will sport a notched display, something that has been increasingly common among Android phones off late. The notch will allow OnePlus to offer the biggest screen real-estate yet with around 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio. Apart from this, the company has been teasing a new alert slider design, water resistance and a powerful processor among other things. We should know more about OnePlus’ partnership with Marvel Studios as we near the release of Avengers: Infinity War.
