Lego, the company behind the bricks, has done something truly mind-boggling – build a full-size, driveable model of the Bugatti Chiron supercar. The actual construction began in March 2018 and the entire process too 13,500 hours, reported techcrunch.

The car is not entirely Lego though.

Some of the components just can’t be replicated in plastic. So the Lego Chiron has steel frame, batteries, 3D printed gears, and Bugatti wheels. Unlike the actual Chiron, which has topspeed of 250mph, the Lego Chiron clocks around 13mph.

And the car is able to achieve this topspeed, thanks to over 2,000 Lego Power Function motors.

The other fascinating aspects of the Lego Chiron include:

1) A detachable steering wheel

2) Doors that actually open and close

3) A spoiler that lifts and lowers at the push of a button, with a control panel to toggle all the lights and electronics

4) A functional speedometer, also built out of Technic pieces

Lego will display the model at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.
