Thanjavur: Tamizhaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam founder-president P. John Pandian has urged all Tamils to sink in political differences and stay united to get Cauvery water from Karnataka.

Led by John Pandian, activists of Tamizhaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam staged a demonstration in front of the Thanjavur railway junction today condemning the central government for not setting up the Cauvery Management Board.

The party’s Thanjavur district secretary Thiaga. Kamaraj, Tiruchi district secretary P. Rajendran, Tiruvarur south district secretary T. Ayyappan, Tiruvarur north district secretary S. Ganesapandian, Nagapattinam north district secretary A. Kesavaraj and others participated in the agitation.

Addressing media persons, John Pandian condemned the behavior of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for having refused to meet the delegation of MPs from Tamil Nadu. “It is highly condemnable that the Prime Minister allots time to meet actress Kajol while he refused to meet the delegation of MPs from Tamil Nadu. The delegation was led by the Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker, Thambidurai,” John Pandian said.

By having refused to meet the delegation of MPs from Tamil Nadu, the Prime Minister has shown his apathy towards Tamils, he said. “If all Tamils stand united, we will succeed in getting Cauvery water from Karnataka,” he added.
