Heavy rains lash Valparai, holiday declared for schools

The Coimbatore district administration has declared a holiday for schools in Valparai following heavy rains there.
Rains continued to lash Coimbatore district for the second consecutive day on Tuesday. District Collector T.N. Hariharan declared a holiday for schools in Valparai. In the last 24 hours, it received 15cm rainfall.
Sholayar dam received 3,087.38 cusecs of water. Water level stood at 84 feet on Tuesday as against the full level of 160 feet.
