Chennai: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is all ready to launch its PSLV-C39 carrying Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS-1H) on Thursday evening.

The 29-hour countdown for the liftoff started at 2 pm on Wednesday after necessary clearances from different technical agencies catering to readiness and launch, according to ISRO sources.

The launch is set for 7 pm on Thursday from the second launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR at Sriharikota, near Chennai.

This would be PSLV’s 41st launch and is expected to put the 1,425-kg IRNSS-1H into the orbit.

This satellite like the earlier ones will have two types of payloads for navigation and ranging.

The navigation payload will transmit navigation service signals to the users and will operate in L5-band and S-band with its highly accurate rubidium atomic clocks.

The ranging payload will have a C-band transponder for accurate range determination. The satellite will also have laser-ranging reflectors.
