The Salem Division of Southern Railway completed its fortnight-long cleanliness awareness campaign on August 31 covering all stations under it.

Aimed at keeping the railway premises and inculcate the habit of hygiene among rail users, the campaign was launched across all stations in the country. Various were undertaken on daily basis across the division, according to a senior official.

The activities were carried out in Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Mettupalayam, Udhagamandalam, Tirupattur, Morappur, Attur, Chinna Salem and Salem Town stations. Besides the general public, various NGOs and students took active part in the activities.

Salem DRM Hari Shankar Verma appreciated the active participation of all stake holders and requested all to continue their efforts to keep the railway premises clean.
