An immigration fair, organised by Education Overseas Academy, was held at Grand Regent here on Saturday.

A large number of students and professionals attended the event during which time they met the immigration experts seeking advice to immigrate to Australia or New Zealand.

Talking about opportunities in the two countries, Venkateshwaran Krishnan, immigration lawyer to Australia and New Zealand said,” Both Australia and New Zealand offer lot of opportunities. Both these countries have significant Indian population,” he said.

“Australia’s population is only two crores. The opportunities and scope are vast there,” Venkateshwaran said.

Asked whether it was easy to find a job in Australia, he said, “Immigrants are taken based on a point based system.

So only candidates with potential of getting job there are taken.” he said and added that students visa and direct migration (PR) were the two popular visas among Indians.
