Former Minster and Pathanapuram MLA Ganesh Kumar visited actor Dileep in the Aluva sub-jail on Tuesday.

Talking to mediapersons later, he said Dileep was innocent till the court found him guilty of charges. “The film industry should support him. Many people, who were benefitted by him, have turned against him now. I will not say the investigation is going in the wrong direction. But if the police have erred somewhere, the Chief Minister should intervene,” Ganesh said.

Dileep’s actor-wife Kavya Madhavan and her father Madhavan, daughter Meenakshi visited him on Onam day at the jail. They were followed by actor Jayaram, who presented new clothes to Dileep.

Jayaram later told mediapersons that every year he presented new clothes to Dileep during Onam and “I didn’t want to break the practice”.

Other film personalities Harisree Asokan, Benny P. Nayarambalam, Sudheer, Suresh Krishna, Kalabhavan Shajon, Eloor George, Antony Perumbavoor, Arun Ghosh, Bijoy Chandran and Ranjit also met Dileep in the jail.
