Swarga Foundation has come out with the 3rd edition of the ‘I’m Special’ calendar for 2018 themed ‘Adaptive Sports’.

Swarga Foundation Managing Trustee J Swarnalatha said the calendar featured12 differently abled athletes who have excelled and won laurels for the nation. It was conceptualised and designed by the differently-abled. The photoshoots and videoshoots were done by photographers with disabilities and repute.

The differently abled population was mostly marginalised and almost forgotten due to lack of opportunity and access to infrastructure.

According to a statement, the foundation’s mission is to improve the condition of individuals with multiple sclerosis and other neuro-muscular disorders by increasing awareness among the general public and transforming the general attitude in society towards differently abled individuals.

Previously, Swarga has launched two editions of the calendar featuring differently-abled achievers across India.

Among other projects of Swarga includes ‘Sarathi’, Coimbatore’s first wheelchair accessible transportation service. The trust has renovated all the disabled-friendly toilets on the platforms of Coimbatore railway station.
