Three-day watershed management training programme from Tuesday

Nilgiris Collector Innocent Divya will inaugurate the three-day day capacity building programme on “Application of GIS and Mobile Techniques in Watershed Management” for the field and middle level officers of District Watershed Development Agency on Tuesday.
Organised by the Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Regional Centre (IISWC), Udhagamandalam, and sponsored by the Tamil Nadu Watershed Development Agency, the main aim of the training program is to improve the knowledge and skills in application of Geographical Information System (GIS) and mobile techniques in planning, implementation and monitoring watershed development projects.
About 30 watershed development team members, assistant executive engineers and assistant directors from Thoothukudi District will participate in the programme.
