Famous food blogger Hazeena Syed launched her first book ‘Ravuthar Recipes’ in Coimbatore today.

Hazeena’s ‘Ravuthar Recipes’ will be the first book to document the authentic, traditional Ravuthar cuisine, and similar to her blog, some recipes comes with a personal story of hers. “Food is everything to me. I believe cooking is an art and it has to be done with love, hence the book got the tagline-‘ With a pinch of love.’

Hazeens felt it is important to document the Ravuthar cuisine since it is a borrowed culture. “It was a search into who I am and from where I came from. Nothing has been documented till date about the Ravuthar cuisine. Rauthers were Persian horse traders who first came to Rajasthan for trade. Later they did trade with Chola kings, they married local women and settled here. Ravuthar cuisine also includes recipes from Malaysia, Sri lanka and Myanmar”, said Hazeena.

The likes and views she received for authentic Ravuthar’s recipe actually pushed her to write the book. “There are 375 authentic Ravuthar recipes in the book, also a brief on Ravuthar history”, said Hazeena. When asked why a book despite having such a huge fan following online , she said “I’m not a tech savvy person, I did blogging with the little I know. It is indeed a proud and happy moment when your name appears as author, also online doesn’t offer the touch and feel of a book. Book stays forever”, said Hazeena.

The design and food photography for ‘Ravuthar’s Recipes’ was done by Stone, Papers and Scissors design studio in Coimbatore, run by Ashik Jaffar Ali and Sujini Meiyappan. “Designing and photographing the book took little more than a year and it was both fun and challenging at the same time”, said Sujini. Ashik said, “We had to shoot the dishes when they were hot and fresh, that was bit a challenge.”
