Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration Minister S P Velumani on Wednesday said that the State’s rights would not be compromised at any cost.

Talking to reporters at the airport here after seeing off Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Velumani said that the Governor had lauded the tradition, culture and development schemes initiated by the Government.

Replying to a specific question on the criticism from various parties and organisations with regard to the meeting Purohit had with top district officials on Tuesday, he said that the Government would never compromise on its rights and also the ideology of AIADMK. “It is a healthy trend,” the Minister said.

Accusing the opposition parties for not appreciating various works carried out by the Government, particularly during the rains, he said that they always indulged in criticism and finding fault with it (Government).
