‘Yoga mudras, meditation will boost peace of mind and bring happiness’

Meditation, yoga mudras, breathing exercises and laughing therapy will boost peace of mind and bring happiness in one’s life, according to Prof. Dr. V.R. Arivazhagan, Director of Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy.

Addressing a three-day workshop on planning, executing and writing an international quality PhD thesis and research papers organised by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, he said yoga was also to moderate the production of chemicals in the body that affect humans mentally, physically as well as psychosomatically “which will ultimately facilitate the individual to live healthy and make them to contribute effectively in research and development programme, publication and execution of day-to-day assignments”.

Dr. Arivazhagan also taught yoga with scientific justification so that the future generation of researchers would concentrate more on research and development with healthy life.

“Apart from the spiritual aspects, the physiological benefits acquired from yoga have recently had radical scientific understandings behind its workings.”

Nearly 30 PhD scholars and 30 scientists from various campus of TNAU participated in the session, a press release from the University said.
