Special police teams to bring down Coimbatore crime rates

The police has formed special teams to bring down crime rates in the city. They will monitor offenders and this will help prevent crimes.

City Police Commissioner K Periaiah said, “We have formed different special teams to look into different crimes. A list of previous offenders in each crime has been taken and they will be watched by these special teams. Beat patrolling is also being strengthened.’

Deputy Commissioner (Crime) Perumal said, “Special teams have been formed to look into chain-snatching, house-breaking, two-wheeler theft, picking pockets and bag-lifting. These special teams will also check for similarities in modus operandi.”
